6/14/2025 I am home and wow there was a lot of swap mail for me!! I am working through ratings and plan to be caught up soon if you are waiting to see whether something has arrived. Thanks for your patience.
6/4/2025 I have had to travel unexpectedly due to family health issues so I will be away for the next 10 days or so. I will do my best to monitor any mail USPS tells me is arriving, but I may be rating late. I anticipate all swaps going out on time.
My threes These two ratings are from the same incident 7 years ago. I used to travel a lot for work for weeks at a time, with dates that were sometimes a moving target. I completed both swaps for the same partner before a trip and left them for the postman to pick up. My mistake. They were inside my mailbox when I returned home. I don't live in that city anymore, and due to the current Administration, I am currently not working, therefore not traveling for weeks or months to parts unknown. Anyway, it was frustrating, and as a result, I took a break that wasn't intended to last 7 years (except apparently for a few swaps in 2021) but I am back now.
Swapping notes
If I have not rated you, I either haven't received the swap or I am out of town. I will try to put notes here when I am away. My sense of time is a little fluid, and I won't rate down for a couple of days' discrepancy, because I probably didn't notice, but I track my swaps, and if it has been weeks with no communication, well...
I send all swaps. If you haven't received it, please contact me before rating down. I will resend.
About me Yes, totally neuro-spicy in case you were wondering.
Lately I've gotten some fantastic mail with multiple different postage stamps on it - I love this! If you have random stamps that need a home, put them on my envelope!
A new developing set of interests is tarot, witchcraft, conjure, voodoo, hoodoo, and rootwork. If you have exposure to or experience with any of these areas and can work them into any swap, feel free!
I am also an avid scuba diver and love anything ocean-related, especially sea life, though beaches and boats are also on the list.
See info at the bottom of my profile for outgoing WISHLISTS and TAGS.
I am a well-traveled professional in international health and I love to knit. You will never catch me without at least an emergency sock knitting project in my purse, and usually a shawl in my computer bag. I am from New England and have lived in the western US as well as the south, and other places around the world. Swapping is probably an excuse for me to further indulge my love of paper, stamps, stickers, postcards, and possibly to discover new loves.
Lately I am doing more sketching/ painting/ doodling, trying out different media, both the background and the application.
Junk journaling - I'm late to the party but I feel as though I have been preparing for this all my life. I'm down a rabbit hole of YT videos and would love for you to send me anything a swap allows or in a private swap that would be helpful in this endeavor. Specifically, I would love darker, edgier, and brighter color themed items (inserts, backgrounds, etc). I love vintage botanicals and fauna too, but I prefer stronger colors to faded. I would also love to see photos of your work as inspo, or exchange digital versions of swap art (or other art) to print and use. Feel free to email me at this username at gmail.
Knitting - I knit socks, scarves, shawls, and sweaters. I love most types of wool and most any colors, including un-dyed, and anything involving silk! I stay away from man-made fibers and usually don't knit with cotton, though occasionally with hemp. Knitting is my one true love! My favorite things to knit lately are pullover sweaters, mostly fade-style, since I have so many beautiful skeins but often only 1-2 of the same color.
Collage - I am out of the habit, but I did collage with wild abandon in my younger days, and have been recently inspired by @bluehairedmary showing me some of her ATCs.
Sewing - My ambitions run bigger than my ability to complete projects, but I have many small patchwork projects in mind, and may be able to use that inspiration for ATCs as well. I also occasionally sew garments I can actually wear. I really want to get into sewing paper as part of JJ embellishments.
Since joining Swap-bot, I discovered that I like making mini flip books, and I make tons of handmade envies.
Postcards
I love unique postage stamps, so if you have 'em, use 'em!
Except for the above, not too into touristy PCs.
I prefer coffee to tea, but I participate in tea swaps now and again. I like black tea, herbal (mint, lavender, lemongrass), berry, citrus, and hibiscus, don't like green tea as much though I just found one with lemongrass that I like, and do not like Earl Grey. But I love Lady Grey!
CURRENT: ACOTAR series. My book tastes lately run the gamut: fantasy, sci-fi, historical fiction, science/culture/other readable non-fiction (like, help me as a lay person understand your complicated but super interesting topic!)
These are preferences only. I will never rate down on a sender's choice!
In the past, I've joined a few Profile-Based swaps, so here are some ideas!
Pagan / magical / voodoo themed items
Postalettes / fold-and-mail letters: I love vintage, boygirlparty (or similar), retro/mod, kawaii.
Unique and interesting papers (origami, cotton, linen, rice, handmade) in different textures and weights
Interesting stickers like variations on an anatomical heart or steampunk animals / objects
Kitchen: I love swedish dishcloths, and I've noticed on Amazon that some people comment that some are made in Sweden and others in China. I'm not sure I care, but FYI. I love nautical, mid century modern, and sheep / wool / knitting themes.
