I am editing the swap participation limit to include those who have PM'd me to be on the waiting list. If I have sent you a PM with permission to join, feel free to do so. If you have not PMd to be on the waiting list but are still interested, please PM me and once I get the kits completed, I will see where I stand on numbers. Thanks to everyone for such enthusiastic interest!!

Credit for the basics of this swap go to @Leashah (for her Rolo swap) and the paper doll idea is from @Paige1900 . Thanks to both of you. Everyone’s dolls in the last one were so inspiring; it made me want to try one!

For this swap I will send all participants a supply kit with a mermaid doll cut-out, patterned cardstock, collage sheet images, and various embellishments. There will not be any assembly instructions (but it is pretty self-explanatory).

  • You do not have to use everything in the kit (I tend to overkill if I don’t know what I am doing), but you MUST use enough of the items in the supply kit so that it is obvious that it is a “same supplies” doll. Feel free to add from your own supply, but at least 75% of your mermaid must be from the kit.

  • You will send your partner the decorated mermaid. Please package her carefully – wouldn’t want her de-scaled in transit!

  • Please take a picture of your mermaid as we will be putting them on parade!!! I will open a thread after the swap starts so that we can post pics. Taking a picture is NOT a requirement of the swap; it is just fun to see them.

I am going to set the sign up date and the send by date 7-8 weeks apart so there will be plenty of time to receive the kit and to put it together.

I will send the supply kits out by January 28.

Remember - this swap will be limited to the first 15 only (excluding me).

I believe some people did not read it well : This swap will have a limit of 15 members (excluding me, so 16 total). If it reaches the limit and you would like to be on a waiting list in case someone should drop, please send me a PM....

will we have a place to post pictures of these? or will it just be on our own flickrs? I haven't mailed mine yet, so I shouldn't put pictures up until I do, but I love the way she went together! (I should have her in the mail friday or monday. yay!)

I will open a thread (a little closer to the mailing deadline) where we can all post our pictures. Can't wait to see all of them --- I am making mine on Saturday at a "girls' craft day"! Glad to hear that you liked the way the kit worked - I was a little nervous about my first kit!

I just drew a mouth and eyelids (closed) as I don't draw very well. Check out the previous TPD paper doll swap for some good ideas. Someone cut and pasted Twiggy's face on one - it was so cute!
